ANOTHER PILGRIM LAID TO REST AFTER RETURNING HOME FROM MOUNT ARAFAT

  Muslim pilgrim gather atop Mount Arafat,also known as Jabal al-Rahma (Mount of Mercy), southeast of the holy city of Mecca, on July 8, 2022.  A piece of news that would sadden the heart of loved ones is the death of another Nigerian pilgrim identified simply as Hasiya Aminu.  The sad development has been confirmed by the Chief of Operations and Head of the Nigerian Medical Team, of NAHCON, Dr Usman Galadima Meanwhile, close sources revealed she passed on in her sleep; Aminu becomes the second pilgrim that died during the 2022 Hajj operations . Again, another Nigerian pilgrim, identified simply as Hasiya Aminu from Kaduna state is dead. Vanguard reports that the pilgrim died after she returned from the plains of Arafat, Friday evening. FG RELEASES NAMES OF KUJE ESCAPEES

  The Nigerian Correctional Service on Friday, July 8, released the names and pictures of inmates with cases of terrorism who escaped from the Kuje Medium Custodial Centre in Abuja. The inmates escaped the correctional centre on Tuesday night, July 5, after members of the Islamic for West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacked the facility.  “If you see any of these people, or have useful information which may lead to their recapture, please call 07000099999, 09060004598 or 08075050006 or Any Law Enforcement Agency nearest to you. FG LAUNCH MANHUNT FOR KUJE ESCAPEES

  The Federal Government and authorities of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) have launched a manhunt for escapees from the Kuje Medium Custodial Centre, which was attacked on Tuesday by suspected Boko Haram insurgents. It was gathered that the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) is coordinating the manhunt while the NCoS is compiling the biodata, including photographs of escapees, especially 64 members of the Boko Haram group who were ferried out of the prison facility. A source within the Kuje facility, who preferred anonymity, said over 600 of the escapees have been recaptured. The Public Relations Officer of the NCoS, Umar Abubakar, on Wednesday said only 578 escapees had been recaptured, leaving 416 escapees still on the run. NASARAWA: SIX CASES OF MONKEY POX CONFIRMED IN TWO LGAs

Nasarawa State has confirmed six cases of monkey pox in two Local government areas. Confirming the outbreak of the disease in Lafia, the state commissioner of health, Ahmed Baba Yahaya  said the first case was reported in Keffi Local government in May this year.  According to the Commissioner, health care workers in the state have been sensitized and trained on the occurrence of the disease while drugs and essential commodities  have been procured  and treatment obtained in all general hospitals and the Federal Medical Centre Keffi. A Westminster Magistrates Court in the United Kingdom, on Wednesday, ruled that David Nwamini Ukpo, the alleged kidney donor for the daughter of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, is not 15 years old. Suspected Air Force Bombing Kills One Civilian In Katsina Community

  Katsina, usually referred to as Katsina State to distinguish it from the city of Katsina, is a state in North West zone of Nigeria.   The Nigeria Air Force may have mistakenly bombed a community in Katsina State hours after suspected terrorists attacked a presidential advance convoy in the state. Channels Television gathered that the bombing took place on Tuesday. An eyewitness said the bomb destroyed at least one building sheltering several persons at Kunkuna village, Safana Local Government Area of the state, killing an elderly woman and injuring 27 others.
